Amongst the Dead and Me – Indie  film project  will shoot in Omaha, Nebraska, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, in September 2027.

The nightmare is beginning…
Looking for talented actors to bring four important characters to life in Amongst the Dead and Me , a supernatural horror story inspired by German folklore and the terrifying legend of the Alp, a nightmare spirit associated with sleep paralysis and nocturnal terror.

Roles:

JEANNIE LAVEY
Female | 20–40 | All Ethnicities | Paid | Non-Union
Jeannie is an alternative/goth hairstylist whose life is being slowly consumed by terrifying night terrors. Desperate to regain control, she begins self-medicating and eventually seeks help from Dr. Alexis Monroe.
But Jeannie soon discovers that what she’s experiencing may be far more sinister than she ever imagined. As an ancient evil begins feeding on her fear, Jeannie must find strength within herself and fight for her life.

ANDREW LAVEY
Male | 20–30s | All Ethnicities | Paid | Non-Union
Andrew is Jeannie’s brother—a strong-willed heavy-metal musician, skeptic, and atheist who refuses to believe in the supernatural.
At first, he believes his sister is simply losing control of her life. But when he witnesses what is truly happening to Jeannie, his disbelief begins to crumble.
Andrew will do whatever it takes to save his sister—even if it means walking directly into the darkness himself.

ROMAN Anderson

Roman is Jeannie’s boyfriend and one of the people closest to her. He loves Jeannie deeply but finds himself struggling to understand what she’s going through.
As her night terrors become increasingly disturbing, Roman is forced to confront something he cannot explain. His relationship with Jeannie becomes a test of loyalty, fear, and just how far someone is willing to go to protect the person they love.

JOSIE Thompson

Josie is Jeannie’s fiercely loyal, wildly outgoing best friend. She’s confident, uninhibited, flirtatious, and unapologetically comfortable with her sexuality.
She’s the kind of friend who can turn any night into an adventure—but beneath the bold personality is someone who genuinely cares about Jeannie.
When Jeannie’s world begins falling apart, Josie’s fearless attitude is put to the ultimate test as she comes face-to-face with something that doesn’t care how brave you are.

THE CONSERVATOR

The Conservator is a meticulously dressed occult curator who becomes the audience’s unholy tour guide into the nightmare surrounding Jeannie LaVey. Well-spoken, sophisticated, haunting, and morbid, he possesses an unsettling calmness as he reveals pieces of a darkness most people would never believe could exist. He knows far more about the supernatural than he lets on—and his knowledge may be the key to understanding the nightmare that awaits Jeannie and her unsuspecting friends.

DUNCAN MURRAY
Male | 30s–40s | All Ethnicities | Paid | Non-Union
Duncan Murray is a survivor of the Alp—but surviving came at an unimaginable price. Haunted by his past encounter, Duncan is eccentric, peculiar, and often seems just a little crazy. He lives in constant fear that the Alp will return to finish what it started. Duncan knows the creature is real because he has experienced its horror firsthand. The only reason he survived his attack was by plucking out his own eyes.
Now Duncan must confront the nightmare again… and hope his past doesn’t become everyone else’s future.
