Face The Music is an instrumental ensemble that will be performing Steve Reich’s Tehillim this year and is in need of female high school singers. For more information about Face the Music, you can access their webpage at http://kaufman-center.org/special-music-school/face-the-music
We will be auditioning singers in late September and will start rehearsals in October. Rehearsals will be on Sunday evenings. The voicing is 3 sopranos (“one high soprano and two lyric spranos) and 1 alto, but the tessitura is rather demanding for all parts. I am writing to see if you have any singers who may be interested in auditioning for this unique opportunity. The first performance will be in Merkin Concert Hall in conjunction with the professional ensemble, Alarm Will Sound as well as Face the Music.
