CENTS is an upcoming feature film about Sammy, an uncommonly smart twelve-year-old girl who uses her gift for mathematics and enlists her frenemies to revamp the school penny drive into a major moneymaking operation.

LEAD: SAMMY (12), female, Hispanic, (talent can be between 11-14): Sammy is tough kid, a bit of a troublemaker, and a mathematical genius. She’s a loner, always looking for an edge and keeps her mathematical prowess to herself.

SUPPORTING: KATIE (12), (any ethnicity, talent can be between 11-14): Katie is a do-gooder who has latched onto the most popular girl in the 7th grade. She helps run the penny drive, but has secretly been skimming pennies off the top for her gain.

SUPPORTING: HANNAH (12), (any ethnicity, talent can be between 11-14): Hannah is the most popular girl in the 7th grade. All of the teachers love her and think she is a model student, but the rest of the girls know better: you don’t cross Hannah.

SUPPORTING: EMILY (12), (any ethnicity, talent can be between 11-14): Emily is Hannah’s sycophant, doing Hannah’s bidding whenever and wherever to stay in Hannah’s good graces. She is the quiet one in the group, which makes her the hardest one to read.
