Kids Wanted in Atlanta for “Middle School: Worst Years of My Life” Feature Film

By | October 30, 2015

James Patterson’s kids book series “Middle School” is being made into a feature film and the project is casting for kids in Atlanta.

Earlier this year, the movie held auditions for child actors to fill the 2 lead roles of Leo and Rafe, now more castings are out for the project and they are looking for kids to play paid background actors. The movie is casting kids that are actually in middle school. Kids applying for the movie must be between the ages of 11 and 14 only in grades 6th, 7th and 8th. This will be a multi-day booking that will film November through January, so they are interested in kids that are home schooled. The kids who make the cut will be playing kids at the middle school. The casting directors are interested in siblings that can work together as well as extras that can come together to make some fake families for the movie.

The movie will be based on the characters  in Patterson’s books, Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life. The James Patterson novel is the first in the series of “Middle School” novels about the antics of a young boy named Rafe and his silent… imaginary friend, Leo.

The popular children’s book made the NY Times best seller’s list and centers on the story of a young boy just entering middle school. In the books, Rafe Khatchadorian has enough problems to deal with at home, but now, he is entering middle school and a new set of issues get thrown into the mix. Luckily, he’s got a plan for the best year ever, if only he can pull it off with the help of his best buddy, Leonardo “Leo” the Silent. Rafe lives with his younger sister, Georgia, his mom and Mom’s verbally abusive, deadbeat boyfriend, Carl who the kids nicknamed “Bear”.  Rafe is definitely not looking forward to the new school year. He dreads  entering 6th grade in a new middle school but his buddy Leo will make it all tolerable. Leo is Rafe’s  only real friend and urges him to make his mark at Hills Village Middle School by breaking every rule in the book, literally.
