Alabama – Movie casting call for small roles and extras
A new film will be shooting in the Mobile Alabama area next month and there has been a casting call released for the project called “Aether“. The film is seeking some non-union actors to fill a few paying roles.
Aether seems to be a steam punk inspired project that has Emmy award winning fx crew working on the project. Not much information is available about the film’s plot or cast however there is a short write up of the project available on a steam punk website. The project will be filming the pitch reel on February 9th – 13th at a civil war fort located on Dauphin Island in Alabama.
According to the info, Aether, the primary power source for the kingdom of Wavelinde, possesses a dark, addictive trait and a group of outcasts are brought together to defend their homeland from a power hungry political saboteur, violent assassins, and a ruthless chancellor obsessed with keeping his floating kingdom sky born in this epic steampunk fantasy. Aether is both a fuel and in small doses a drug, but serves as the catalyst for a social revolution. In many ways Aether is a metaphor for our modern obsession with fossil fuels causing brutal social hierarchy, wars, and serves as a source of political power.
The above mentioned website also mentions that the film is seeking craftsmen, artists and vendors who would like to feature their steam punk work on the project as well.
If you’re a vendor, artisan, or craftsman, we will not only pay you to be there, but we will also be featuring selected works both on cast and in a scene where the hero passes through a bazaar on his way to a fight. you can see the full details here.

Casting directors for the film are seeking to fill some small roles with actors local to the Mobile area, please see below for the character descriptions. The film is also looking to cast extras in Alabama.
