The action packed story just got a modern spin and Atlanta locals have a chance to be a part of it.
The CBS reboot just premiered on CBS a few weeks back and is still filming episodes of season 1. The show has been putting out quite a few casting calls lately and just released a new one. The new casting call for “MacGyver“ is looking to cast actors (not extras) that have some on set experience to play US Embassy personnel. The actors cast for “MacGyver“ must be available to work multiple days on set in Atlanta. The scenes filming are scheduled for 10/19 to almost the end of the month on 10/30. The roles are currently asking for actors with resumes and open availability for the above listed dates.
“MacGyver” premiered on CBS on September 23, 2016 and is executive produced by Henry Winkler, Paul Downs Colaizzo, James Wan and Lee David Zlotoff. The classic 80s series got a modern day facelift to match the times. The 80s era mullet that Richard Dean Anderson sported through much of the early part of the original show has been replaced with Lucas Till’s updated, yet still a bit unconventional shaggy cut. Joining MacGyver’s team of secret agents tasked with very risky missions that takes his all over the world is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton, played by CSI’s George Eads, Patricia Thornton ( played by Sandrine Holt), who is an ex-field agent turned director of operations and a risky computer hacker named Riley Davis who is played by Tristin Mays. Another major player in the cast is MacGyvers roommate, Wilt Bozer who is played by Justin Hires and keeps the fort down when Mac’s away. The team works for the fictional Department of External Services where MacGyver and the crew get to save the world… using their brand of unconventional tricks which include an arsenal of paper clips, chewing gum, tooth picks and whatever other items they have on hand.
The show began production in Atlanta this past July will film all the way into December of 2016. According to the shows IMDB page, the “MacGyver” reboot follows young war hero Angus “Mac” MacGyver has an extraordinary knack for unconventional problem solving and an extensive bank of scientific knowledge that he believes can best be put to use saving lives, both of which come in handy when he creates a clandestine organization within the United States government to tackle high-risk missions around the world. Working under the sponsorship of the Department of External Affairs, MacGyver quietly prevents disasters with the help of former CIA agent Jack Dalton.
