“Black and White” – PSA

Synopsis: “Black and White” is a quirky PSA made for In it, a man and a woman, set in a 1940’s film noir setting, are having a heated discussion. The woman, a stereotypical femme fatale, convinces the man, a stereotypical hard-boiled detective, to help her with her task. The task, as it turns out, is to talk to their son about the dangers of underage drinking in their present day living room.

Audrey: female, age 30s. Audrey is the lead female role. She is a dark, moody femme fatale that uses her charms and melodramatic passion to convince Edward to help her with her task. In the present she is a caring mother that wants to talk to her son.

Edward: male, age 30s. Edward is the lead male role. He is a hard-boiled, no nonsense detective that is yoked into helping Audrey with her task. In the present he is a caring father that would like to get right to the point with his son.

Jason: male, age 12-18. Jason is a young teen that is going into a talk with his parents about the dangers of underage drinking. He serves as the MacGuffin of the PSA.

Narrator: female, age 20s-30s. The narrator is a voice only role. She is a caring, strong, and authoritative representative of the cause that serves to convince the audience that it is important to talk to their children about the dangers of underage drinking.
