We are a group of Year 3 Mass Media Management students from Nanyang Polytechnic. We are having a short film regarding the acts of kindness in Singapore.
The story revolves around Maya, a troubled teenager, who encounters an act of kindness that changes everything as she has her breaking point and contemplates to end it all.
Maya: (Female, 14-17y/o, Malay)
A troubled student who faces family problems and eventually deals with depression due to the heavy emotional baggage from her parents. She is close to her grandmother who is always there for her. She is very introverted and keeps to herself.
Nenek/Grandma: (Female, 60-75y/o, Malay)
A kind and nurturing person to everyone around her. She manages to provide the emotional support and warmth that Mia never had from her parents.
Ibu/Mother: (Female, 40-60y/o, Malay)
Overwhelmed with the financial burdens and house chores, she often dumps her problems onto Maya.
Ayah/Father: (Male, 40-60y/o, Malay)
He emotionally abuses his family and would always argue with his wife which made home uncomfortable for Maya.
