Official Disney Channel Open Casting Call in L.A. Area

Do you want to try out for the Disney Channel? Here’s your chance!

Disney has just made the announcement about their annual open casting call for new talent.

Every year the Disney Channel and Disney XD hold a search for new, and undiscovered child talent. The event is always held during the spring or summer months and this year is no different since the company just announced that July 12th will be that day. This is a free event, there is absolutely no fee to attend but parking will cost $15 for the day. The casting announcement does state that parking will be available at the Hollywood  & Highland parking structure which is nearby.

This years Disney auditions will be held in Los Angeles on Saturday, July 12th 2014. The event will be held at  the Loews Hollywood Hotel located at 1755 North Highland Avenue, Hollywood, California 90028. All talent will need to come to the event and there will be a registration line open from 9AM to 1PM. Those that get there after 1PM will most likely not be seen or have a chance to audition.

The annual Disney auditions are held once a year and each year the Disney casting directors travel to a new city. Representatives with the Disney Channel and Disney XD will be at the event meeting with kids who would like to tryout for a role in a Disney Channel or Disney XD show.

These auditions are not for any specific role or project. This is a search for new talent and you do not need to have an agent to be seen. The company is looking for kids between the ages of 10 and 17 who have an interest in acting and would like to be considered for future projects. The try outs give kids a chance to get discovered and Selena Gomez got her start by attending the yearly Disney casting call in Texas back in 2004. Last year the event was held in Texas.

Disney announces auditions for the summer 2014

If you plan on attending the even, come prepared with a current photo that you can leave with the casting directors. If you have a resume, it’s probably a good idea to bring that as well. Be prepared to wait. This is a yearly event that draws thousands of hopefuls and their families. Many people fly in from other parts of the country and it will be very crowded.

In recent years, kids were given a very short script and then a minute to perform it in front of the Disney Channel CD’s.

Due to the amount of kids that will be attending, the audition will be very quick and those who have attended in the past have have stated that it literally is about a minute.

Hey so how can I attend the Disney auditions if I stay in South Africa?

  2. Kara

Hi there! My boss’s son will be flying to LA on the 14th or 15th to audition for HSM4. Does anyone have a good idea about how early they should arrive to the convention center to stand in line for registration (registration is from 9am-12pm). I’m having a hard time finding forums that discuss topics such as this. Thanks so much if anyone has any info! -Kara

Most events like this do not allow people to line up overnight or camp out. I know from past years the the Disney audition lines are long and the last L.A. Disney open casting event drew 1000s of families. Your best bet is to call the venue, the convention center and ask them. It’s kind of up to them how early they will let people line up. Often times, the show hands out wristbands to those that lined up in time and they check for wristbands after registration when auditions open and they let people in.

I live in palmdale and I want to act but my mom don’t want me to because it costs money. Is there anything free?

    1. erica

The Disney auditions which ask for money are scams. There is only 1 Official Disney Audition every year and it is always free and held in early summer.

I’m in Monroe Nc, would it be auditions any time?

My daughter has been wanting to audition for Disney, but the last couple times the calls were not held in LA (we are from CA). This year it is, but she is turning 18 in April. Is she totally ineligible to audition?

  6. Janiya Hicks

I live in Philadelphia and I’am interested in being a actress on Disney.

  7. Jeffrey Bourff

I live in Florida will Disney have any auditions there? Because I have a dream of acting and it would be a dream come true.

  8. Lynn

Does anyone know if they are a real stickler about the ages 10-17, or would they permit my 7-year-old daughters to audition? (They already have acting experience).

  9. Lynn

Do you know what happens at these? i’m going and want to know what to expect.

Generally, kids and their parents will register and may receive a short script to read. Later in the day they will get about a minute in front of the casting director. There will be tons of people so the actual audition will be really quick.

  10. Brandy

Hi can you tell me when you will be in any of the southern states.

  11. Nancy Lin

Hi I’m interested in the Disney Channel and XD auditions. Since, I don’t really live near the location of the auditions. I would also like to know if you accept video calls? Can you please answer my questions as soon as possible?
    -Thanks

This is an open casting call for Disney Channel that they hold yearly in different cities. They do not accept online auditions for this, you have to show up. Sometimes there are online auditions for projects, you just have to wait to see if anything comes up.

      1. Emma

Will there ever be an audition in 2014 again closer to New York and where exactly should someone look for online auditions?

        1. erica

Disney Channel only does the official talent search in the spring / summer. So probably 2015 for the next one. However, there are a few online auditions for other projects going on now. Try looking through the listings posted under the nationwide tag to find those. Also search under ‘kids’ and ‘teens’.

      2. Emma

I really love acting and I wanted to know Do you know when there will be any open call auditions in New York and where to look if I wanted to find any online auditions. Can I audition online?

        1. erica

Disney Channel announces the location of the annual open call just a few weeks before the actual event.

  12. Natali Orozco

Hi my name is Natali. I really really want this opportunity and I just found out what day its gonna be on. 13. Gina

Would you be able to tell me if we arrive early, would we be finished by 1:00?

    1. Ally

Sorry, but no. It takes several hours to audition everyone.

  14. Mustakim

    1. erica
