AMC Turn open casting call

Extras Casting Notice/Open Call Notice For “Turn”

TURN returns! The filming of the second season of TURN: Washington’s Spies is about to begin. TURN is filming in the Central Virginia/Richmond area, and Arvold Casting is seeking paid Extras who look authentically from the Revolutionary War era and are local to the Central Virginia/Richmond area.

Filming for the second season begins Monday, September 29th and continues through February, with a hiatus from December 18th to January 4th. Casting will be ongoing for this project until the final shoot date in February, so keep that hair growing!

Arvold Casting is holding an Open Call this Sunday, September 21st, 2014 in Richmond, Virginia, and would love to find some new faces as well as see familiar ones. We really want to meet you in person!

Open Call Date: Sunday, September 21st , 2014
Open Call Time for SAG Members Only: Noon to 1pm
Open Call Time for All: 1:00-4:00 PM
Open Call Location: 4300 Carolina Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222

The office is located near the Richmond International Raceway off E. Laburnum Avenue. There is plenty of parking on site.

IMPORTANT: Members of SAG-AFTRA with membership cards have a special Open Call hour for SAG-AFTRA members only, from noon to 1:00pm, and may also arrive during the regular hours and be taken to a special line for SAG-AFTRA members only. All are welcome between the hours of 1pm to 4pm, both Non-Union and SAG-AFTRA members.

We are searching for local extras and Stand-Ins who have the flexibility to do as many days as needed during the shoot dates. We will also consider those with more limited availability, as some roles are only needed for one day. We are looking for men, women, and children who are Caucasian, African American, and Native American from thin to average build.

The Revolutionary War happened over 230 years ago, and we need background characters who look like they are from that time period. Therefore no visible tattoos and no braces. Hair should look natural, NOT processed or colored. Eyebrows should be natural, NOT modern and plucked. Teeth should look natural and real, NOT noticeably capped or modern. Long hair in both sexes is highly desirable. Ability to see/function without physically wearing eyeglasses is needed (contacts are okay).

Beards were not popular during the Revolutionary War, and so most of our male roles require men to be clean shaven. Hair long enough to be pulled back into a ponytail is very highly desirable for men, women and children, even if there is no actual ponytail.

“They have spies everywhere. We need the same.” In April, experience the Untold Story of America’s First Spy Ring. Only on AMC.
