FOX’s upcoming “The Exorcist” TV series is now casting in Chicago
The show is beginning production on season 1 and casting directors for the show have released casting calls for many different types and many dates. “The Exorcist” filmed the pilot over the spring months and now FOX has ordered a full season. According to FOX, “The Exorcist” television series is a modern re-telling of the story. The show was ordered by FOX back in May and the season should hit the air this fall. The new show is based on William Peter Blatty’s 1971 novel, The Exorcist. The network describes the show as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession, and confronting the face of true evil.”
The Exorcist re-make will follow a pair of priests as they become entangled with a family whose members may be suffering from demonic possession. Alfonso Herrera plays Father Tomas, Kurt Egyiawan plays Father Bennett and Ben Daniels will be playing another priest, Father Marcus. Some months back, the show cast Geena Davis to play Angela Rance, a woman who approaches her priest about her suspicions of demonic spirits invading her home. Also in the cast are Brianne Howey who plays Katherine Rance, Hannah Kasulka is Casey Rance, Alan Ruck is Henry Rance and Giu Carol plays a character named Paloma. Seems her suspicions of demons in the house where on point as David Hewlett has been cast in “The Exorcist” as the voice of the demon.

The Exorcist cast call information:
The first two episodes, 102 and 103, of The Exorcist are block filming, which means they will film simultaneously over the 18 days, starting August 2nd through August 25th. It will be a Monday through Friday schedule.
We believe several of the roles established in the next two episode will be recurring. They aren’t core groups per se, meaning you won’t necessarily work every episode, but when the roles are recalled, we will check the people who previously played those roles to see if you are available before we reach out to new people.
Note: Having open availability on these dates is very important because the schedule is going to have day shoots, split calls and overnights. The schedule is in flux, and still very much subject to change. Typically, the later in the week, the later the call. For example, this means that Monday would be more likely to be a day shoot, a Wednesday a split call (approximately 12:00pm call time), and a Friday overnight. This isn’t set in stone, it is just a guideline.
