Open auditions for kids coming up for Disney’s The Lion King.

Casting directors for the Disney production are seeking children between the ages of 9 and 12, who are triple threats…that is kids who can sing, dance and act. The available roles are to play the cubs, Simba and Nala.

Casting directors state that no actual theatrical or performance experience is needed and the open auditions will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in just a few days.

“The Lion King” musical brings the beloved Disney animated film to life on stage in a whole new way. With stunning visual effects, mesmerizing puppetry, and vibrant costumes, audiences are transported to the majestic African savanna to follow the epic journey of Simba, the lion cub destined to become king. Set to an unforgettable soundtrack featuring iconic songs by Elton John and Tim Rice, such as “Circle of Life” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” the production remains a wonderful experience of music, dance, and spectacle.

WHEN: Saturday May 11, 2024 (Sign-in begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00PM)

WHERE: The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres Stage Door – 158 Victoria St.

WHO: Children ages 9-12, between 52”- 57” in height, who can sing, dance and act to play the African cubs Simba and Nala. No performance
experience necessary. All performers must be local Toronto hires for the production!

WHAT: Prepare the last verse of “I Just Can’t Wait To Be King”, we will have an accompanist on site. Audition materials linked in our bio.

NOTE: All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents or guardians must remain present at the audition site at all times. Please be prepared to wait.

Bring a picture and resume, stapled together.
