ABC’s new period drama, “The Astronauts Wives Club” is now filming in the New Orleans area.
The new series is set in the 60?s during the height of the space race. “The Astronauts Wives Club” focuses on a group of women who are married to astronauts that are currently in the space program and are getting ready to go to space. The new show is seeking background talent to play a variety of roles with filming dates in early January 2015. All these roles will work in NOLA and may require a fitting since the scenes are set in the 60’s.
Kenneth Mitchell will star as Wisconsin farm boy and World War II pilot Deke Slayton. Deke is in the space program but his dreams of going to space are cut short after a medical condition is discovered preventing him from going to the stars. Joining Mitchell in the main cast are JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Odette Annable (House) and Desmond Harrington (Dexter). The series was supposed to premiere this fall and center on the wives of the Mercury astronauts, but the show got expanded to include the Apollo and Gemini missions and has pushed the premiere date into early 2015. “The Astronauts Wives Club” is based on Lily Koppel’s 2013 novel.

We are now casting multiple roles for the TV Series, “The Astronaut Wives Club.” This show takes place in the late 1950’s: WOMEN must have natural colored hair that is no more than 2 inches below their shoulders, or be willing to cut to that length. MEN must have hair shorter around the sides and back and less short on top, along with minimal to no sideburns and no facial hair.
We are currently taking submissions for the below roles. All of these roles will have to attend a fitting near Kenne, work dates in New Orleans and the surrounding area. Although these are for specific work dates at this point, everyone pre-fit for these roles will be considered for multiple scenes throughout the season, which ends in February.

We are now casting various BG roles that will be working on Friday, January 9th or Monday, January 12th in New Orleans. Spots available for 20’s-60’s Caucasian and African American looking Men & Women. Everyone must also be available for a fitting one day between 1/5-1/8.
Men = Must be willing to receive short 1960’s haircut; 5’8-6’1″; 38 waist or smaller.
Women = Hair should be no more than a few inches below shoulders or can be shorter; 32 waist or smaller.
