AMC “Turn” Open Casting Call in Virginia – Casting Men, Women & Children

The new season of AMC’s Revolutionary War Drama “Turn” is now in production and there is a call out for Extras.

Turn” is about to begin production of the 3rd season and there is an open casting call coming up this weekend in the Richmond, Virginia area.  Arvold Casting is seeking paid Extras who look authentically from the Revolutionary War era and are local to the Central Virginia/Richmond area.

Casting director Erica Arvold is seeking locals who have some flexibility in their daily schedules and will be able to do as many days as needed during the shoot dates as well as people who have limited availability for roles that would only require a single day. The show begins filming in the Richmond area next month, November, and will continue through the winter with a brief hiatus for the holidays.

TURN: Washington’s Spies is seeking locals who would like to work as paid background actors and can pull off a Revolutionary War look.  They will be needing lots of men, women and kids for upcoming scenes… long hair is a definite plus. No experience is needed to apply and both union and non-union talent are welcome to come tryout for a small role.

Set in the summer of 1778, TURN: Washington’s Spies tells the story of New York farmer, Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence.

Turn: Washington’s Spies, stars Jaime Bell, Ian Kahn, Kevin. R. McNally, and Meegan Warner. The show airs in the spring and Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes which will be aired in the spring of 2016.

Arvold Casting is excited to commence casting background (extra) roles for TURN: Washington’s Spies, Season 3. The AMC television series begins filming in the Central Virginia/Richmond area this November and continues through February 2016. We invite Central Virginia area residents to come to our Open Call on Sunday, October 18th in Richmond, VA to be considered as extras on the show!

OPEN CALL DETAILS:

We are seeking Caucasian, African American and Native American men, women and children who are thin to average build and can realistically portray people living in Revolutionary War times.

Long hair is definitely a plus for men, women and children, but not a must. If you have an interesting, expressive face, the casting team would like to meet you!

No acting experience is required, but those interested in being extras must have flexible availability, reliable transportation, patience and a positive attitude. Everyone is encouraged to attend! Both SAG-AFTRA members and non-union individuals will be considered. If you are a SAG-AFTRA member, please bring your membership card.

When attending this open call to be considered for an extra role, expect to fill out an info/contact form, have your picture taken and possibly interview briefly with a member of the casting team. No appointment is necessary, and attendance is free.

There is no need to bring anything except yourself, your professionalism and your patience…and perhaps a book or a quiet game if children are attending. A guardian should accompany all children under 18 in attendance at all times.
